Established May, 5th 2006 Since 2006 Stay in the Shade has donated $15,000 toward melanoma research, provided sun screen for summer camps, and is in the process of creating an online cancer support network - www.ihavecancertoo.org. 100% of all proceeds go towards the mission. In February and March of 2010 over $2,400.00 was raised in memory of Karl Hamina, Jr. On February 4th, 2009 The Stay in the Shade Organization was selected as one of 4,000 nonprofit organizations to be apart of Google's In-kind Advertising program. The program donates $10,000 a month in online advertising! The advertisements appear on the right side of Google's homepage every time related keywords are searched.
